Published on October 7, 2019, a Kampala court heard that Godfrey Wamala, accused of killing Ugandan singer Moses Ssekibogo alias Mowzey Radio, denies any involvement in the fatal brawl at the 'De Bar' club in February 2018.

Wamala admits to being at the scene of the crime but claims he only intervened to stop a scuffle between the deceased musician and another individual, George Egesa, which broke out after one of them poured a bottle of whiskey on the table.

According to Wamala, Mowzey Radio was rowdy on the day of the incident, fighting with everyone who came near him and keeping his guard up to fight.

Wamala also stated that he did not follow the group of people who were trying to restrain Radio and instead left the scene after receiving a call from the O.C Katabi Police station due to the noise.

When Wamala returned to the scene, he found Radio fighting with two gentlemen in the corridor and tried to intervene, but was overpowered and found himself on the ground.

Radio succumbed to head injuries at Case Hospital in Kampala in February 2018.
