On October 5, 2019, a family in Kisumu County suffered a devastating loss when their kin, Police Constable Fredrick Mutuku, died in a road accident while heading to his mother-in-law's burial.
Mutuku, who was attached to Central Police Station in Kisumu, had been granted five days off duty to attend the burial, but he did not reach home as expected.
Concerned relatives began a search that would end at Ahero Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where they found Mutuku's body on Sunday afternoon.
According to police in Kisumu, the officer perished in a road accident involving a Nairobi-bound bus and a trailer on Friday night at around 11pm.
Mutuku hailed from Mutomo Sub-county, Kenze village, where he was traveling to on that fateful night.
