Published on October 7, 2019, a tragic incident shook Kimatisio Village in Chepalungu, Bomet county, when a 13-year-old class six pupil allegedly committed suicide on Sunday evening.
The body of the young boy was found hanging from the roof in his parents' house with a piece of cloth tied around his neck.
Area Chief David Marusoi confirmed the incident, stating that the motive behind the suicide had not yet been established.
According to Marusoi, the boy's grandfather was the first to notice the body and alerted the neighbors, who then informed the authorities.
The boy's body is currently at Longisa Hospital Mortuary as the police prepare to take statements from the parents, who were in a state of shock when the police visited the homestead on Sunday.
