On Monday, Kenya's team will be returning home after a successful stint at the IAAF world athletics championships in Doha, Qatar. The team, which was in the country from September 27 to October 6, 2019, clinched an impressive 5 gold medals, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze.
Kenya's medal haul was led by Ruth Chepng'etich, who won the country's first gold medal in the women's marathon. Timothy Cheruiyot also won gold in the men's 1500m, while Conseslus Kipruto dominated the 3000m steeplechase.
Other gold medalists included Beatrice Chepkoech in the women's 3000m steeplechase and Hellen Obiri in the 5000m race. The Silver medalists were Faith Kipyegon in the 1500m and Margaret Chelimo in the 5000m race.
The Bronze medalists were Ferguson Rotich in the 800m, Rhonex Kipruto in the 10,000m, Amos Kipruto in the men's marathon, and Agnes Tirop in the 10,000m race.
