On October 7, 2019, a tragic incident unfolded in Rwanda, where 19 suspected terrorists were killed by security forces.
The attack, which occurred near the Volcanoes National Park, a renowned mountain gorilla sanctuary, left 14 people dead.
According to the police, five of the 'terrorists' were arrested after they attacked people in their homes with knives, machetes, and stones in Musanze District.
Authorities suspect that the attackers carried out the killings while searching for food.
Initially, the death toll was reported as eight, but it has since been revised to 14.
Tourism officials assured visitors to the park that they were safe, despite the incident.
