Published on October 7, 2019, the Party of National Unity (PNU) has embarked on a major revamp ahead of the 2022 General Election.

According to Eng. David Kamau, the party's new chairman, PNU is plotting a major political comeback. The party secured retired President Mwai Kibaki's second term and is now seeking to regain its former glory.

Among the strategies to achieve this goal are the recruitment of new members and the opening of new offices countrywide. The party has already opened new offices in 18 counties and plans to open more in the remaining counties by June next year.

Eng. Kamau noted, 'We are planning to have offices in all our 47 Counties to strengthen our party which now wants to make a major political comeback ahead of the next general elections.'

The party will also field a presidential candidate in the 2022 elections and participate in by-elections that may arise from time to time. On the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), PNU expressed its full support, provided it is about inclusivity.

George Omari, a founder member of the party, emphasized the importance of inclusivity, stating, 'We are here with the founder members of the party as resource persons to the current national committee, as initiators of the (BBI) we want also feel the input of our party in its report.'
