October 7, 2019 - A widening rift between ANC boss Musalia Mudavadi and ODM leader Raila Odinga has put the official home of ANC, Amani House, under storm.

The rift has been caused by half-baked advice that Mudavadi has been following blindly, according to ANC deputy leader Ayub Savula.

Savula has accused Barrack Muluka and other advisors of misleading Mudavadi, setting him against Raila.

"I was shocked by Mudavadi's claims that the Handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila came about as a result of blackmail. I don't agree with him on this one," Savula told his constituents at the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Lugari campus.

According to Savula, Mudavadi needs Raila and ODM supporters to achieve his ambition of ascending to the presidency. It is wrong for ANC and ODM to engage in unwarranted wars that could scuttle Mudavadi's prospects.

While on a tour of the United States, Mudavadi told a gathering of Kenyans in diaspora that a threat by some Western countries to cancel visas for opposition leaders and their associates necessitated the political deal reached between President Uhuru and Raila.

However, Savula believes that Mudavadi should reach out to Raila and President Uhuru and convince them to back his presidential bid. The sideshows they are seeing will not help matters.

On the Kibra by-election, Savula said that the decision by ANC to field Eliud Owalo should not be misconstrued to mean enmity between the political outfit and ODM.

"What is happening in Kibra is just friendly fire between sibling rivals. Supporters of Amani and ODM ought not to fight or hold grudges against each other," Savula said.
