On October 7, 2019, a man was arrested by police officers at Kisima Trading Centre in Samburu Central sub-county after being found in possession of 100 bullets.
Samburu County Police Commander Samson Ogelo explained that the suspect was arrested at around 6 pm by police officers who were patrolling the area after receiving a tip-off from members of the public.
According to Ogelo, police officers searched the suspect and recovered 100 bullets from him before detaining him at Kisima Police Station and later transferring him to Maralal Police Station.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are investigating the incident to determine where the suspect was taking the bullets and their intended purpose.
Samson Ogelo commended members of the public for their cooperation in ensuring the suspect's arrest and urged them to continue reporting suspicious activities to the police to prevent crime in the area.
