On Sunday, a massive fire broke out at a petrol station in Mwisho wa Lami trading centre, Mau Narok, and quickly spread to nearby residential houses and businesses.
Nakuru firefighters have been dispatched to contain the inferno, which has left residents scrambling to put out the flames.
Njoro Sub County Police Commander Mohammed Huka confirmed that no casualties have been reported, but the extent of the damage remains unclear until the fire is fully contained.
"We cannot estimate the number of houses destroyed at the moment until the fire is contained," said Mr Huka.
