On January 26, 2019, Mary Wambui's life was tragically cut short in a brutal attack at Judy Wangui's house in Four Ways Junction Estate, Kiambu-Nairobi Road.
According to the postmortem report, Wambui suffered nine killer blows to the head, including being hit with a pressure cooker and suffocated.
Michael Mathenge, a car-hire services operator, led police to a thicket in Ruiru where Wambui's body was recovered.
Judy Wangui and Michael Mathenge have denied the murder charges, which they allegedly committed on the night of January 26, 2019.
Justice Christine Meoli had ordered the two to deposit cash bail of Sh2 million each to secure their release.
Joseph Kori, Wambui's husband, was initially arrested over her death but was later released and is expected to testify as a state witness in the trial.
