Published on October 7, 2019, Sauti Sol's Savara sat down with Mpasho to discuss the secret behind Bongo music's success.

According to Savara, Tanzania's culture of gossiping and affordable internet prices have catapulted their music career to new heights, dominating the East Africa region.

"We have no deep-rooted culture for gossiping here. Tanzanians' cultural behaviors of gossiping and cheap internet play a big role," Savara explained.

He further emphasized the difference between Tanzania and Kenya, stating, "You can't compare Tanzania with Kenya. There, you get a local person with access to affordable internet and many followers on Instagram."

Savara also highlighted the success of Sol Generation, their music label, which has signed four artistes, including Kaskazini, Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, and Crystal Asige.

Looking ahead, Savara hinted at the release of an album next year, featuring international and local collaborations.
