On Saturday evening, police officers in Itumbe, Kisii, stormed the house of a secondary school teacher following a tip-off from members of the public who had seen a minor entering the house in Itibo market.

The teacher, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found with a female Form Three student in his house, and he allegedly locked her in with motives that are currently under investigation.

According to Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet, the minor was taken to hospital for examination to determine whether she had been defiled.

The teacher was arrested and taken to Itumbe Police Station pending the outcome of the medical examination and the subsequent report.

It is worth noting that this incident comes on the heels of a similar case last week, where a teacher in Tharaka-Nithi County was arraigned in court for allegedly defiling one of his students.
