Published on October 6, 2019, a dispute over a prime piece of land worth over Sh400 million in Nairobi has pitted Kenyan tycoon Jimmi Wanjigi against two other businessmen from Kitengela.

Wanjigi claims the one-acre land on General Mathenge Road in Wetlands, Nairobi, belongs to him, but the two businessmen, who are trading as Horizon Hills Limited, also claim ownership of the property.

Each of them claims to be in possession of the genuine title deed to the land, with Wanjigi accusing the two businessmen of colluding with lands officials at Ardhi House to grab the property from him.

Wanjigi recorded a statement with Parklands Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers on August 29th, but the two businessmen failed to appear before the investigators to give their side of the story.

The matter has since been taken over by the Land Fraud Unit at the DCI headquarters, with DCI George Kinoti directing that the case be moved from Parklands DCI to the Land Fraud Unit following pressure from powerful individuals in and outside government.
