Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is facing a battle to recover from a thigh injury in time for the highly anticipated El Clasico match against Barcelona on October 26.
According to a statement from Real Madrid, Kroos suffered a left thigh muscle injury during their 4-2 win over Granada on Saturday.
Spanish media reports suggest that Kroos could be out of action for three weeks, which would mean he would miss Germany's friendly with Argentina on Wednesday, their Euro 2020 qualifier against Estonia on Sunday, and Real Madrid's league game at Real Mallorca on October 19 and the Champions League visit to Galatasaray on October 22.
