Manchester United's Poor Form Continues as Newcastle Wins 1-0

Published on October 6, 2019, Manchester United's struggles in the Premier League continued as Newcastle won 1-0 at St. James Park.

Matthew Longstaff scored the only goal in the 72nd minute, firing past a helpless David De Gea, to inflict more misery on the Red Devils.

The defeat leaves Manchester United 12th in the league standings with just nine points, raising questions about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's suitability for the managerial role.

The Norwegian had a strong side, with Marcus Rashford and Daniel James starting upfront, but the attackline could not break the Magpies' defence that held on to claim maximum points.

Manchester United came closest to scoring the opener in the 41st minute through Harry Maguire, but the Englishman missed a sitter after shooting wide.

Longstaff's goal was the difference as the home side held on to cart away all the three points, easing pressure on Steve Bruce.

Manchester United's poor form has left some fans questioning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's suitability for the managerial role.
