Man City vs Wolves: Traore's Late Brace Sinks Defending Champions

Wolves' Adama Traore scored a late brace to help his team upset reigning Premier League champions Manchester City 2-0 in a Premier League match on October 6, 2019, at the Etihad Stadium.

The match saw City hand Joao Cancelo his league debut, while Bernardo Silva started from the bench.

Despite their best efforts, City struggled in front of goal, with Raheem Sterling coming close to breaking the deadlock before the break with a powerful drive, but Rui Patricio palmed the ball to safety.

After the restart, Pep Guardiola brought on Oleksandr Zinchenko to replace Kyle Walker, but Wolves continued to pile the pressure against the defending champions.

On the 80th minute, Traore finished off a quick counterattack from a decent pass from Jimenez, to see Wolves go 1-0 up.

Man City came out smoking with a series of attacks with strikes from Silva and Cancelo as Wolves goalie Patricio held on.

Traore was on target again in stoppage time, putting the ball past Ederson to seal a famous win against the defending champions.

With this win, Wolves moved up the standings, while City remained second with 16 points, eight behind table-toppers Liverpool.
