On a rainy Sunday, October 6, 2019, Tusker secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz in a Kenyan Premier League match at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Published on October 6, 2019, the match saw Luke Namanda open the scoring for Tusker in the 28th minute after capitalizing on a rebound from Homeboyz keeper Gabriel Andika.

However, Homeboyz equalized through David Okoth in the 44th minute after a goal-bound Peter Thiong'o was brought down by Hillary Wandera.

After the breather, second-half substitutes David Magak and George Ogutu scored crucial goals for Tusker in the 78th and 83rd minutes, respectively, to seal the fate of their opponents.

Efforts by Homeboyz forwards to equalize were thwarted by Tusker's strong defense led by Eugene Asike.
