On Sunday, a devastating road accident occurred in Gilgil, Nakuru County, resulting in the loss of two lives and serious injuries to two others.
The accident happened when two lorries collided head-on near the Soysambu area, killing the drivers of both vehicles instantly.
Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu confirmed the incident, stating that one of the lorries was headed to Nairobi from Nakuru and the driver attempted to overtake, thereby ramming into the oncoming lorry.
The injured were rushed to St Mary's Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Gilgil sub-county hospital mortuary.
