On Saturday evening, police officers in Itumbe, Kisii County, stormed the house of a secondary school teacher in Itibo market, where they found him with a female Form Three student.
The teacher was arrested and taken to Itumbe Police Station pending investigations, following a tip-off from members of the public.
Kisii County Police Commander Martin Kibet confirmed the incident, stating that the girl has been taken to hospital for examination to determine whether she was defiled.
According to Commander Kibet, the teacher will remain in custody until the medical examination is completed and the report is given, after which necessary steps will be taken.
