On Saturday, a devastating incident occurred in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, where six elephants tragically fell to their deaths while trying to save each other from a waterfall.
According to reports, the incident occurred after a baby elephant slipped and fell over the waterfall, commonly known as Haew Narok (Hell's Fall), prompting the other elephants to rush to its aid.
Unfortunately, the bodies of five other elephants were later discovered nearby, having also fallen over while trying to save the calf and subsequently each other.
Thankfully, two other elephants that were found struggling on a cliff edge nearby have since been rescued and are being monitored by Thailand's Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.
