On August 29th, 2019, Jimi Wanjigi filed a complaint with the police at Parklands DCI officers, claiming ownership of a one-acre piece of land on General Mathenge Road in Westlands, worth KSh400 million.

Wanjigi alleged that he had been paying land rates and rent for the property since acquiring it, and that the two businessmen, operating under Horizon Hills Limited, were colluding with lands officials at Ardhi House to take away the land.

According to a report by the Standard on October 6th, 2019, the case was initially handled by DCI officers at Parklands Police Station but was later transferred to the Land Fraud Unit at the DCI headquarters due to pressure from powerful individuals.

Wanjigi stated in a three-page document that he had purchased the land from Horizon Hills and subsequently transferred ownership to a company in which his wife, Irene Nzisa, is a director in 2005.

He discovered the dispute when he attempted to sell the land in 2018, only to find that the two businessmen were laying claim to it.
