On October 4, 2019, Ulinzi Warriors secured a crucial victory over Thunder in the Kenya Basketball Premier League, finishing at the top of the standings.

The match, held at Nyayo Gymnasium, saw Ulinzi Warriors emerge victorious with a score of 76-49, avenging their only loss of the season to Thunder in the first leg.

Warriors captain John Washika led from the front, scoring 17 points, alongside James Mwangi, while Antonio Bwire added 11 points to the team's tally.

Thunder's Kevin Chogo was joint top scorer with the Warriors duo, while Griffin Ligare scored 11 points for Thunder.

Warriors coach William Balozi expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "Finishing at the top was our first target and I am glad that we all worked hard and made it happen. We have one match against Umoja after which we will continue training in readiness for the play-offs,"

Ulinzi Warriors' victory saw them secure a quarter-final play-offs date with the side that will finish eighth.
