On October 5, 2019, Liverpool secured their eighth consecutive Premier League win, defeating Leicester City 2-1 at Anfield.

Sadio Mane scored the opening goal for the Reds five minutes before halftime, but James Maddison equalized for Leicester in the 80th minute.

However, James Milner sealed the win for Liverpool with a late penalty in the third minute of injury time, securing a 2-1 victory for the Reds.

Wilfred Ndidi was booked in the 29th minute for catching Milner late in a counter-attack, while Mane and Salah had several chances to score but were unable to hit the target.

Leicester's Dennis Praet came close to leveling the scores in the 72nd minute, but his shot drifted just inches off the post.

With just ten minutes to go, Maddison equalized for Leicester, but Milner's late penalty sealed the win for Liverpool.
