On Saturday, President Uhuru Kenyatta spoke at the funeral of Daniel Kasirimo ole Muyaa, the former chairman of the defunct OlKejuado County Council, held on October 5, 2019.
The President emphasized the importance of national unity and peace, citing ole Muyaa's contributions to Kajiado County's development as a peaceful and progressive cosmopolitan county.
“Kajiado has never had any ethnic tensions and this is as a result of the leadership of people like ole Muyaa,” said President Kenyatta.
He also shared his personal experience with ole Muyaa, describing him as a close family friend and political teacher who mentored him into elective politics.
President Kenyatta reiterated his commitment to cooperation with opposition leaders, stating that national unity is crucial for achieving the country's development objectives.
Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Kajiado Governor Joseph ole Lenku, Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko, and COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli also attended the funeral service and paid their respects to ole Muyaa.
