On a typical Friday, residents of Roysambu in Nairobi were treated to an unexpected Christmas gift when a delivery truck carrying beer crashed in their neighborhood on October 5, 2019.

As the truck lost its load, nearby residents quickly sprang into action, stripping the vehicle of its cargo and making off with crates of beer. They even called on bystanders to join in on the fun.

The scene was chaotic, with beer bottles breaking and spilling onto the road. Police officers who arrived at the scene were forced to use tear gas to prevent the entire stock from being looted.

Despite the commotion, no injuries were reported. In fact, some residents were seen stopping their cars to join in on the beer heist, with one man even getting a few bottles from a fellow resident.
