IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019: Day Nine Highlights

Published on October 5, 2019, the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 is in full swing, with day nine bringing a plethora of exciting events.

The day will feature the finals of both the men's and women's 4x100m relays, as well as the heats of the 4x400m. The usual sprint powers will be to the fore, but one of the joys is seeing well-drilled, highly motivated squads upsetting the established order.

On the road, the men's marathon will be decided on the Corniche, with defending champion Geoffrey Kirui leading a strong Kenyan contingent. The two quickest entrants are Ethiopian pair Mosinet Geremew and Mule Wasihun.

However, it's worth noting that the fastest entrant doesn't always win, especially in Doha's challenging conditions. The winner is on the start list somewhere, but where?

Other highlights of the day include the finals of the women's 1500m and 5000m, as well as the men's shot put, which promises to be a battle of titans. Tom Walsh led the qualifiers, but Olympic champion Ryan Crouser and several others were not far behind.
