Published on October 5, 2019, a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam was forced to return to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after a technical glitch.
The incident occurred when the plane was climbing through 27,000 feet to cruising altitude, causing oxygen masks to deploy and sending passengers into panic.
According to multiple sources, the affected passengers were re-booked on other flights.
This incident comes just three months after another mid-air scare on a Nairobi-bound flight from Mombasa, where a false mechanical error triggered the aircraft's warning system, forcing the flight to be aborted.
