On October 5, 2019, the Vodacom Premier League (VPL) announced its awards for the month of September 2019. Miraji Athumani, a midfielder for Simba, was named the VPL Player of the Month, while Patrick Aussems, Simba's coach, was chosen as the VPL Coach of the Month.
According to the VPL, Athumani and Aussems were selected for their outstanding performances in September 2019. The two Simba players and coach won the awards after defeating their opponents in the final round of the VPL.
