On October 5, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Kapset, Bomet County, Kenya, where a man's life was cut short in a most brutal manner.
A resident of the area, Jamaa, had gone to the market to purchase meat when he was stabbed with a meat cleaver by a butcher, Samuel Towett, who had been instructed by Jamaa to sell him the meat.
According to eyewitnesses, Jamaa had ordered the butcher to sell him the meat, and in the process, he was stabbed with the cleaver, leading to his untimely death.
Police officials stated that Jamaa had been stabbed with the cleaver while the butcher was inspecting the meat, and that he had received first aid before being rushed to the Itare Forest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Despite the efforts of the medical team, Jamaa's life could not be saved, and his body was taken to the Kapkatet Hospital mortuary, where it remains to this day.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many residents expressing their outrage and sadness at the senseless killing.
