Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is mourning the loss of his wife, Adelaide, who passed away after 39 years of marriage.
According to Boni, Adelaide was cancer-free, but she died of pulmonary hypertension.
Speaking to the media, Boni explained that Adelaide had been diagnosed with cancer in 2003, but they had overcome the battle through chemotherapy.
‘For avoidance of doubt I wish to announce to members of my extended family and my friends that Adelaide is dead,’ Boni said.
He added that Adelaide had been diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2003, but they had gone through chemotherapy and she had recovered.
However, this year, Adelaide developed cancer of the blood, also known as multiple myeloma, and they started chemotherapy again. She completed the course, and they confirmed that the cancer had been cured.
Two days ago, she developed pulmonary hypertension, and despite taking medication, she stopped breathing.
