On October 5, 2019, a brazen heist shook Eastleigh, with three Kenya police officers and a Cameroonian national accused of stealing Sh6 million at gunpoint from two residents.

According to police reports, the suspects allegedly accosted the victims to a lodging, where they stole the money at gunpoint. Fortunately, Sh3.5 million was recovered.

Police nabbed the suspects shortly after the incident, thanks to the quick thinking of one of the victims who raised an alarm, attracting the attention of nearby police officers.

As reported by police, the suspects were armed with a Jericho pistol loaded with 38 live bullets.

Notably, this incident is just one of several recent cases involving corrupt police officers. In recent weeks, several police officers have been arrested for various crimes, including transporting bhang and engaging in ATM heists.
