Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale is mourning the loss of his first wife, Adelaide Khalwale, who passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
Adelaide was a dedicated employee at the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in Kakamega County.
As reported by K24 Digital, Adelaide's passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew her, including her husband, Boni Khalwale.
Boni Khalwale has been open about his polygamous marriage, having two wives, Adelaide and Josephine Khalwale.
In a previous interview with The Standard, Boni revealed that he married Adelaide while he was in his second year of college, thanks to a stipend he received.
He recalled, "We were given a Sh1,500 stipend, which was quite a lot then. Life was relatively easier, and I could even afford to marry while in second year."
Despite the challenges they faced, Boni and Adelaide's marriage endured, and she went on to pursue her education and career.
From Mpasho, we extend our condolences to the family and friends of Adelaide Khalwale. May she rest in peace.
