On October 5, 2019, Petroleum and Mining Cabinet Secretary John Munyes extended the term of Hudson Andambi as Acting Managing Director of Kenya Pipeline Company for an unspecified period.

The extension aims to allow the company to find a substantive Managing Director, a position that has been vacant since December 2018 when Joe Sang and other managers were arrested on corruption allegations.

During his tenure, Andambi has made significant progress in enhancing revenue collection and streamlining the company's procurement and human resource processes, according to a press statement by the Cabinet Secretary.

“During the Tenure of Mr. Andambi, the KPC has made tremendous progress in enhanced revenue collection.” read the press statement. “The company has also put in place measures to streamline the procurement processes and restructuring of the company Human Resource,” it went on.

Andambi was first appointed as Acting Managing Director in December 2018, and his new tenure is intended to be temporary until a substantive Managing Director is recruited.
