On October 21, 2019, Francis Muthaura, 72, began a new three-year term as Kenya Revenue Authority board chairman, following his reappointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The appointment was confirmed in a gazette notice published on October 5, 2019, alongside the confirmation of three other board members: Mukesh Shah, Leonard Ithau, and Susan Mudhune.
These appointments came after a boardroom shake-up that preceded the succession of former commissioner-general John Njiraini.
