On October 4, 2019, Kenya's Conseslus Kipruto made history by winning the 3000m steeplechase at the IAAF World Championships in Doha.
With a time of 8:01.35, Kipruto edged out his Ethiopian rival Lamecha Girma by a mere 0.01 seconds, securing his second World title in the event.
The victory marked a remarkable comeback for Kipruto, who had been struggling with a back injury throughout the season.

Other notable finishers in the event included Soufiane El Bakkali from Morocco, who took the bronze medal with a time of 8:03.76.
Kenyan athlete Benjamin Kigen finished seventh in the event.
