On Friday, the World Athletics Championships witnessed a thrilling moment when Mutaz Essa Barshim, a 28-year-old athlete from Qatar, won the men's high jump title.
Barshim's winning jump of 2.37 meters came on his third and final attempt at 2.33 meters, securing his gold medal.
Two athletes competing under the Authorised Neutral Athlete banner, Mikhail Akimenko and Ilya Ivanyuk, took home the minor medals, with Akimenko securing silver on countback with 2.35m and Ivanyuk winning bronze with 2.35m.
