On Friday, October 4, 2019, the World Championships witnessed a remarkable performance by Dalilah Muhammad of the United States, as she shattered her own world record in the 400m hurdles.
At the Khalifa Stadium, Muhammad took gold with a time of 52.16 seconds, surpassing her previous record of 52.20 seconds set at the US Trials in Iowa in July.
Her victory marked a significant moment in the season-long rivalry with Sydney McLaughlin, also of the United States, who took silver with a time of 52.23 seconds. Rushell Clayton of Jamaica secured the bronze medal with a time of 53.74 seconds.
