Senator Susan Kihika has expressed her concerns over the disappearance of her two colleagues who went missing after a plane crash on Lake Nakuru.
Speaking at Kandara on October 4, 2019, leaders under the Inua Mama umbrella criticized the government for lacking a plan to deal with disasters that occur.
"According to what is happening, the government is not ready to deal with disasters. It's time to have a plan to deal with deaths caused by disasters in the country," said Joyce Korir, a representative of the Bomet County Women Representative.
Two of Senator Kihika's colleagues, John Mapozi and Sam Gitau, were among the five people who died in the plane crash on Lake Nakuru.
Although the bodies of three of the deceased were recovered, those of two others, including Mapozi and Gitau, have not been found.
As a result, their families have been left with no choice but to hold a memorial service on the lake.
The incident has sparked outrage among Kenyans, who are demanding that the government takes immediate action to find the missing bodies.
