On Saturday, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will hold a general meeting to discuss its electoral code, a move that comes after a recent court ruling.

Earlier this week, the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) dismissed an attempt by a group of FKF members to stop the discussion on the electoral code, citing that they had not exhausted all internal mechanisms before taking the matter to court.

SDT chairman John Ohaga stated that the appellants had representatives at the FKF general meeting and should have informed them of their grievances.

Ohaga also clarified that the tribunal does not have the power to change the laws of the federation.

Despite the setback, the FKF members who oppose the electoral code will still attend the general meeting, where they will push for the adoption of a tough electoral code that raises the standards for those running for elective posts.

Former FKF Secretary-General Michael Esakwa was also spotted at the tribunal, showing support for the opposition.
