On October 4, 2019, Huawei launched its ICT Competition 2019-2020, providing a platform for Kenyan university students to showcase their tech prowess.

The competition, which includes Network and Cloud tracks, has attracted over 2000 Kenyan university students, who will compete against students from over 100 universities across Africa.

Winners of the national finals will represent Kenya in the global finals in China, where they will compete against the best students from around the world.

Participants also stand a chance to win internship opportunities, a trip to South Africa and China, exam vouchers, and smart devices like laptops, phones, and watches.

Huawei has been working with universities like Strathmore, Multimedia, and Catholic University to promote the contest.

The deadline for registration was October 31, 2019.

Previous Huawei ICT Competitions have seen Kenyan teams achieve impressive results, including second place in the regional level in 2019.
