Published on October 4, 2019, Tanzanian singer Mbosso has opened up about his latest song 'Shilingi' (Shilling), which was initially supposed to be a collaboration with Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol.

However, Mbosso chose to work with Nigerian artiste Reekado Banks instead.

Speaking to Tanzanian radio personality Lil Ommy, Mbosso explained that he had initially reached out to four artistes, including Rudeboy, but Reekado Banks stood out due to his love for Mbosso's music.

According to Mbosso, he sent Reekado Banks the song he was supposed to do with Sauti Sol, but they were busy. He then went ahead to shoot the video in Kenya, telling Sauti Sol that Reekado Banks had already done his verse.

When asked about working with Rudeboy, Mbosso revealed that it couldn't happen due to financial reasons. His management had asked for a huge amount of money, which Mbosso felt was not feasible. In contrast, Reekado Banks didn't even want any payment for his verse.
