Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced the closure of a section of Outer Ring Road on Sunday, October 6, 2019, for construction of pedestrian crossings.
The road, which spans 13 kilometers, was constructed by Sino Hydro Engineering Limited, a Chinese company.
According to KURA, the closure will be in effect from 10 am to 10 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019, to allow for the construction of 11 pedestrian crossings at a cost of KSh 880 million.
The authority has warned motorists to be cautious and follow traffic rules as they approach the area.
"We urge you to be patient and follow traffic rules as we work to improve our roads and ensure they are safe," KURA said in a statement.
The closure is part of KURA's efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents on the Outer Ring Road.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow traffic instructions from traffic police.
