Kenyan television viewers are set to miss Hussein Mohamed, a seasoned political show host, as he leaves Citizen TV after a decade-long stint.

On Friday, Mohamed announced his departure, stating that he would be taking a break from October to focus on other matters.

"I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon," he said.

During his tenure, Mohamed hosted the News Night show on Tuesday and previously anchored the Big Question news segment.

He is known for his hard-hitting interviews and has hosted top leaders, including President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

One of his notable interviews was with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2016, marking the first visit by an Israeli leader to Africa in 50 years.

Before joining Citizen TV, Mohamed worked as a political reporter at Royal Media Services and rose through the ranks.

He has been praised for his no-nonsense, objective, and candid journalism, earning him the male media personality of the year award last year.
