On October 4, 2019, the court was asked to deny Sarah Wairimu bail in connection to Tob Cohen's murder. Cliff Ombeta, representing the Cohen family, argued that Wairimu's release on bail would put the family's lives in danger.
Ombeta stated that Tob Cohen's siblings are opposed to Wairimu's release on bail, citing concerns for their own safety. He emphasized that Wairimu's home is a crime scene, and her release would pose a risk to the family.
Wairimu's lawyer, Philip Murgor, has previously accused the police of mishandling the investigation. However, Ombeta countered that Wairimu and Murgor have coached witnesses and are now considered 'dangerous.'
He added that his clients, the Cohens, might be in danger if Wairimu is released on bail, as they may need to testify in the case and require protection.
Wairimu is currently detained in connection to Tob Cohen's murder, and the court is yet to make a decision on her bail plea.
