Hussein Mohammed, a celebrated journalist and Citizen TV news anchor, has announced his departure from the station after 10 years of service.

According to his Twitter post on October 4, 2019, Mohammed has decided to take a break from journalism to concentrate on other undisclosed matters.

"It has been a wonderful 10 years at Citizen TV. I have enjoyed & relished every moment I shared with my colleagues at RMS. I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics & everything in between. See you soon," Mohammed tweeted.

His departure has left Royal Media Services, the parent company of Citizen TV, by surprise.

Speculations are rife that Mohammed could be joining K24, where he will join other high-profile journalists, including Anne Kiguta and Betty Kyallo.

As a seasoned journalist, Mohammed is known for his fiery interviews and keeping politicians in check in his shows.
