On October 4, 2019, a dramatic scene unfolded at the Kenya Forest Research Institute Meeting Hall in Kitui, where Governor Charity Ngilu was meeting with Members of County Assembly (MCAs) for a consultative meeting.
According to eyewitnesses, the meeting turned ugly as MCAs maintained their hard stance on Governor Ngilu, leading to a heated exchange.
At one point, Governor Ngilu demanded to know who had leaked the meeting secrets to the public, as the details had been published on social media platforms.
Without warning, Governor Ngilu rose up and stormed out of the meeting, flinging her arms in the air as she left her driver and bodyguard behind.
Addressing the media after the drama, MCA John Kisangau stated that the house was firm in its commitment to do its oversight work and vowed that no one could blind them.
