Equity Bank Unveils New Look, Strategy for Future Growth

On Thursday, Equity Bank unveiled a new look, complete with a new logo, marking a significant milestone in its 35-year history of innovation and growth.

The new logo is inspired by the bank's 'one roof' approach, which aims to offer diversified products and services under one umbrella, including banking, insurance, and investment.

Equity Group CEO James Mwangi stated that the new approach would help the bank continue shaping the economy while remaining customer-centric.

"Equity bank is all about people. It's a beacon of who we are. The evolution of our brand is an important part of our strategy for continued market leadership," Mr Mwangi said.

With the new strategy, the bank aims to offer a wide range of products and services, making it a one-stop-shop for customers.

Equity Centre branch manager Dickson Kihara emphasized the importance of customer focus, stating that it is at the DNA of the Equity brand.

The unveiling of the new logo was attended by customers, religious leaders, and community leaders, who were treated to an elaborate breakfast.

Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit, the head of the Anglican Church of Kenya, compared Equity's growth to the story of Singapore's economic transformation in a generation.

Renowned motivational speaker Dr Wale Akinyemi hailed the bank for supporting change in the lives of young people through his Zero to Hero programme in Nairobi's slums.

"When I finally write my autobiography, I will have a chapter on Equity. It is a special bank where you can always be sure that its staff will go to every length to listen to you and offer assistance," Akinyemi said.
