On Wednesday, popular gospel artist Kevin Bahati expressed deep sorrow for the victims of the Likoni ferry tragedy, which occurred on Sunday evening.

The incident has raised questions about the kind of emergency response the Kenyan government has in place.

Bahati shared a clip of the unfolding events, captioning it: 'This is One of the Most HEART BREAKING Videos I have Ever Watched. Watching your Own Country People Drown on Video.'

He also questioned the slow response of the government, stating: 'But even more Painful is that More than 3 Days later no Enough efforts from Our Government to at least get the Bodies of this Innocent Souls.'

Bahati's question is one that many Kenyans are asking: 'You mean no Kenya Navy Officials or Cops on Standby for Such Emergencies???'

The incident has claimed the lives of Mariam Kighenda and her 4-year-old daughter, Amanda Mutheu, who were coming from their farm in Kwale county.

It is with deep grief that family members have to watch as the government makes slow attempts to recover bodies of their loved ones.

May their souls find eternal rest!
