At least 13 people lost their lives in a devastating accident that occurred at 1:30 am on the Kisumu-Nairobi Highway.
The accident involved a Nairobi-bound bus, Eldoret Express, which collided with a trailer at Pala area near Awasi.
According to Police boss Dr. Vincent Makhoha, the accident occurred at 1:00 am, and the cause is still under investigation.
Dr. Makhoha told The Star that the number of fatalities might increase due to the impact of the accident, and indeed, the driver of the trailer and the bus were among the dead.
Thirty-eight others were injured in the crash and are receiving treatment at Jaramogi Odinga hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Kisumu Russia hospital.
