On Wednesday night, a 51-year-old man from Kamahuha in Murang'a County was involved in a bizarre incident that has left him fighting for his life. According to reports, the man was drinking with a group of people at a liquor outlet in the area when the incident occurred.
Investigations established that the victim, who was in the company of two others, left the outlet shortly after 2 am and decided to spend the night at one of the suspects' homes. However, the next morning, he woke up to find himself in a stranger's home, bleeding profusely.
Residents at the market centre said the victim was rushed to Maragua District Hospital before being transferred to Murang'a Referral Hospital, where he was booked for surgery. The attackers, however, have not been traced.
Muranga South OCPD Dorothy Gaitenga confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in connection to the incident and that the matter is under investigation to establish the motive behind the attack.
Kamahuha MCA James Karanja blamed the incident on the increased consumption of drugs among the youth, calling for a thorough investigation and public cooperation.
"This matter should be investigated and the public is expected to fully cooperate and provide information pertaining to the suspects," Karanja said.
On October 3, 2019, the matter was reported at Saba Saba Police Station.
